The University of Tennessee College of Architecture and Design presents Karen Braitmayer, FAIA, founder and managing principal of Studio Pacifica, in a lecture on March 22, 2021. Braitmayer’s “good fight” has consistently focused on supporting equity and full inclusion for persons with disabilities. Her lecture takes a deep dive into generations of disability activism, legislative history that impacted the architectural profession and examples of private and public projects in which architects chose to create noteworthy designs inspired (and often enhanced) by accessibility requirements. The lecture is presented through the college’s Robert B. Church Lecture Series and was co-sponsored by AIA East Tennessee. .
