In a March 18, 2021, lecture entitled, Spaces of Belonging, Isometric Studio partners Andy Chen and Waqas Jawaid shared their recent work at the intersection of architecture, graphic design and social justice with faculty, staff and students at the University of Tennessee College of Architecture and Design. This includes visual identities, exhibition design projects, and signage programs for major educational and cultural clients including Google, Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, Princeton University, and the Museum of the City of New York. The partners discussed the opportunities and complexities associated with navigating this work as queer people of color, engaging with complex social issues including gender equity, climate change, racial justice, LGBT identity, and immigrant rights. || A student organization at the UT College of Architecture and Design called TAAST (The Annual All-College Spring Thing) presents a week of student-organized workshops, creative pursuits and community-building activities. TAAST 2021 celebrated the 50th anniversary of the annual event, and TAAST student leaders presented lectures that celebrated the uniqueness and overlap of the four disciplines in the college: Architecture, Design, Interior Architecture and Landscape Architecture. .
