Founded in 2011, the Cougarettes, the official dance team at the College of Charleston, made program history in January 2020, when the team placed fourth in the hip-hop division at the Universal Dance Association (UDA) College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship in Orlando, Florida. The nationally ranked Cougarettes dance team performs at College of Charleston basketball games as well as other campus events. .
